What Our Clients Say

A Fellow Trial Lawyer and Judge Trusted David Willis With His Own Daughter’s Case

“As a 30-year trial lawyer and former Texas Judge, when my own daughter got seriously injured, I thought of no other lawyer to call except David Willis. He did a great job. Years later when I was approached by a couple whose daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car-train crossing accident, I recommended him again. Several years later he called and told me they hit for one of the largest car-train verdicts in the United States. Willis is no doubt a scrapper.”

— Ben C., Trial Lawyer and Former Texas Judge

She Lost Her Husband — And Needed a Lawyer Who Would Fight to the End

“When my husband got seriously injured and later died from his injuries in an industrial accident, we talked to lots of trial lawyers until we met Mr. Willis. He didn’t let us down. His office always answered our calls and let us know what was going on with the case. His love of the law and his fight for us was evident.”

— Sherry Lynn B.

He Drove a Dying Client Five Hours to His Ranch for One Last Hunt

“When my husband was injured in an industrial accident, we interviewed many attorneys from Dallas and Houston, but once we met Dave, we knew he was the one. He and his co-counsel fought the big chemical company defendants and beat them.

Sadly, my husband died from his injuries, but before he did, David picked him up and drove him to his ranch five hours away for the entire hunting weekend. Tony was so happy to ride around in the Jeep, see lots of deer and hunt once again. Tony brought back a nice big 10-point whitetail buck and an exotic called an aoudad and many stories from their hunt. After the trophy mounts were on our living room wall, we called him and Dave drove up to admire them. As we know now, sadly that was his last deer hunt before he died.

We trusted Dave throughout the lawsuit and he didn’t let us down.”

— Isabel H.

He Showed Up to Their Daughter’s Quinceañera

“After my husband suffered a traumatic brain injury from a fall off scaffolding 20 to 25 feet up on a movie set, our family attorney recommended Mr. Willis. We met him and instantly liked him. Soon he and another lawyer hired experts and filed a lawsuit against the Italian movie producer and scaffolding company. The case was settled out of court.

Mr. Willis was always there for us. In fact, we even asked him to our daughter’s quinceañera party for her 15th birthday and he and his co-counsel actually showed up on Saturday night. We were touched. We will forever be grateful to them both.”

— Linda R.

Twenty Years of Referrals — Every Single One Came Back to Thank Him

“Where should I start? I hired Mr. Willis on a case after my mom died in an accident. He was able to put together a team of lawyers and got the case settled for a very large amount.

Over the last 20 years I have recommended him to many close friends here in our town in East Texas — on everything from an explosion death to benzene leukemia exposure and death, to just a few months ago an 18-wheel truck accident that killed my neighbor. Each and every one of my friends later thanked me for his name and the job he did for them.

Willis is a guy I wished I met 40 years earlier in life. I still call him up sometimes and just shoot the breeze about almost anything — but especially hunting. He always has time to take my call. Good guy to know and to call my friend.”

— J.L.N., East Texas

He Was in the Audience at the Organ Donor Ceremony — Nobody Asked Him to Be There

“After our son was killed in an explosion, we knew we needed a lawyer for our daughter-in-law, our grandson, and for us. We talked to many attorneys in the area. Most said it was a tough case and they even declined it. A neighbor told us about Willis.

After we talked, he instantly took charge, had an expert inspect the accident scene, gathered the evidence, and then he and his partner Robert filed a lawsuit and ultimately got the case settled for over $2,000,000.

One more thing. After our son died, we donated his organs and they saved many lives. About six to eight months later there was a beautiful ceremony on a Friday or Saturday night in a church in Houston so the people who received the organs could meet and thank the families who donated them. Guess who was there in the audience supporting us? Yep — Mr. Willis.”

— Maxine G.

Professional, Responsive, and Maximized Every Dollar

“They supported me through a serious accident and made sure all of my medical bills were covered as well as maximizing the pain and suffering part too. Everyone in the office was professional and responsive while they helped me navigate through an entirely new process. Would highly recommend him.”

— Emily D.

Settled Without Trial — And His Staff Always Called Back

“After I got injured, I was totally confused as to what to do next. My dad knew of Mr. Willis so I called him. His staff was amazing — so patient, and they always called back as promised. I was thankful that they were able to get my case settled without having to go to trial. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top injury attorney.”

About David P. Willis — The Attorney Behind These Results

David P. Willis was born and raised in Texas. He graduated from Baylor University in 1978 and earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1982. After law school he served as an attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas — a distinction held by very few Texas lawyers — before entering private practice and dedicating his career to representing seriously injured people and the families of those who did not survive.

He has been Board-Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1988 — just ten years after the certification was first established — and has maintained it continuously for nearly four decades. Of approximately 1,350 attorneys currently board-certified in personal injury trial law in Texas, the number who have held this certification since 1988 and are still actively practicing is extraordinarily small.

Verify his Texas Bar license at texasbar.com and his New York Bar Association admission at the New York State Attorney Search, along with him being a Board-Certified Personal Injury Attorney continuously since 1988.
